Traveller’s Chant

Each and every person is unique. They have different opinions, interests or what they want to achieve in life.
The people I’ve met all come from various backgrounds, all with different stories to tell yet one simple, caring thought brings us together: to help the people of Nepal.

Nowadays I rarely refer to someone as a volunteer, they are a close friend. The friendships I’ve made have shown me there are remarkable people of all ages, ethnicities and nationalities. Part of the thrill of volunteering and travelling is the people who will meet along the way. Some may not appreciate your attempt at speaking to them in French (which I found out the hard way) but others will become special to you. You create many life long memories in a short space of time whilst feeling like you have known each other for much longer. In years to come I know I can go anywhere in the world and they’ll be someone to meet up for a drink, talk about our time in Nepal as well as our adventures since then.

The same goes to anyone reading this. You’ll always have a place to stay in England. I may warn you it will most probably rain and the public transport is a hell of a lot more expensive than here in Nepal, but it’s worth a visit anyway.

My next chapter of Nepal involves a little mountain called Sagarmatha.

Stay tuned,
KP
