The good in Goodbye

This is not about one specific event but one that I have encountered multiple times during my stay in Nepal. I have been living here for roughly 4 months and in that time I’ve had to say goodbye too often.

When travelling abroad I have become close with many different people, volunteers, locals and saying goodbye to them does not get easier. Some volunteers stay for short periods of time, some for longer but one will always say goodbye. With each volunteer I have met, befriended and become close with, each one has impacted my outlook on life, my attitude towards others and how I see myself.

It’s important to see the positives in any negative situation. Saying an emotional goodbye to any volunteer makes me realise I’m privileged to have met them. I take the positive traits from each person to influence how I could become a better friend, brother, son or a better human being. I find self improvement an important part of life; to become stronger, faster and better in most competitive situations. However, I’ve recently discovered it’s more important to have an improved ability to make others happy, smile, laugh and inspire people of all generations. I have not found this easy. I am still trying and still learning but with each smile that I cause, I know I’m on the right track.
Anyone you meet can help you become a better person. Understanding any negative traits from others which you should avoid yourself as well as constructing a large collection of positivity from anyone and everyone in your life.

Stay tuned,
KP
