Pokhara is the 2nd biggest city in Nepal with the population being more than 250,000. It’s scenic, tranquil and I quickly fell in love with the place.
Saturday morning started with chocolate brownie for breakfast in a nearby café. Once the others had finished their normal breakfast we went our separate ways for a bit of shopping. The past couple of weeks I had been doing a lot of walking, so I rented a moped and sped off. Now for those of you who are going to slag off mopeds obviously have not driven one. They’re extremely easy to ride and good fun. I rode up to the local temple which overlooked Pokhara and the surroundings were breath-taking. Top tip for renting mopeds, don’t crash it. I took a corner too quickly and ended up on the road with the moped fairly scratched. The shop owner didn’t seem too pleased. Saturday evening included a pub crawl to the Blues Bar, Club Amsterdam, Ozone and then meeting some British soldiers in the Busy Bee Bar. These guys knew how to drink. I ended up fully clothed, sat in the shower and throwing up. I do not know how to drink.
Sunday involved last minute shopping and walking round the beautiful lake before our journey home. All in all, it was a great trip to Pokhara and I’m now back to work before my next adventure.
